I drew the line art for this around the time of the Van MAC (or around the same time as fvanangel.JPG).  I kept it lying around for awhile; until recently, in a fanart frenzy, I felt the need to color something cel-style.  I can't remember the last time I drew anime fanart that wasn't for some monthly ^^;;; ... I worked my mouse to the bone for this one, but it was loads of fun and I'm very pleased with the results.  Van-samaaaaa.... :D~~~  (For the larger, backgroundless, nearly textless version, click here.)
I wasn't sure how to title this piece... it was a toss-up between "Sayonara, Sweet Memories" or "Maetel the Drug Dealer" *lol*  Yes, this is Maetel from Galaxy Express 999, who along with Dorothy down there is one of my all-time idols.  Idols, as in BOW DOWN!  KNEEL IN PROSTRATION BEFORE THE GREAT GODDESS!!!  ^^;;  Okay, so I like her character a lot.  I would have probably drawn her someday anyway, even if she wasn't featured as one of the Monthly Anime Outcasts.
TITLE:  "I'll get you, Seravi... and your little doll, too!"

Woo hoo!  It's Dorothy from Akazukin ChaCha!  She's one of my favorite anime characters right now.  Well, don't YOU think Dorothy is cool? O_O  ...Of course you don't.  You probably never even heard of her, 'cause she's one of the Monthly Anime Outcasts.  But if you did know her, you'd think she was cool too.  Trust me, I'm always right.

Whoooa...  It's, like... Emeraldas, dude... like, duhhhh... what-everrrr....

I like Emeraldas a lot, and wanted to draw her for the MAO...  Only as the deadline approached, and I was still at a loss for a decent pose/concept.  So I just belted out this little 5-minute pencil sketch and did a cheap airbrush-y CG job.  I suppose it turned out OK, considering...  Though I did mess up her cloak, and her eyes are the wrong color, and I totally forgot the little skulls... uh.  ^^;

TITLE: X/2099

The MAA topic for this was to draw a futuristic little kid version of an anime character, sort of a 'Next Generation' sort of thing...  But I confess, what I really got the most kicks out of was drawing two of the most drooled-after CLAMP bishonen poster-boys as decrepit old geezers.  >:)

TITLE: Van's Christmas

Awww... just what he wanted.  >:)  My friend Saki likes this one, she says he looks really deprived.  Done for MAA, 'All I want for Christmas' theme.

TITLE: "Wai, Saucer da yo!  Hwei, hwei!"

Ooooh...  An MAO I actually knew beforehand, for real!  It's Dick Saucer, from Dragon Half, anime's answer to Monty Python.  I drew him like he was on the cover of one of those sissy magazines read by squealing 12-year-old girls.  IMHO, ol' Dick has never looked so good.  >:)   Click here to see the bigger dimensions, smaller file size, (nearly) textless, and all-around better version.

TITLE: "I hear that gal's one hefty momma."

MAA submission.  The topic?  Characters interacting in any way with food.

I'd just like to say that I'm very proud of the detail I got on those tomatoes.

Look Ma, another Monthly Anime Outcast!  Unlike the ones I've done before though, I actually know this girl.  She's Tiara, from Shamanic Princess, a cool OAV series.

...All right, I confess, I only got the tapes because the character's description for the MAO sounded cool.  But at least I knew her before I drew her.  Hey, that rhymes.  :p

TITLE: Boy-Toys

Awww...  It's the Gundam Wing Boys, drawn as little kids playing with their action figures.  This was for the Monthly Animefan Alternative, when their topic was, "I don't wanna grow up..."  Pretty self-explanatory.  A lot of nostalgia went into this pic, so I thought I'd do it with good ol' fashioned colored pencils.  ^_^  I feel that pencils have a unique playful earthiness to them, that I can't quite capture with CG.
